ACDC is a 50/50 Hybrid strain that has been reported by many people in the medical cannabis community as being a very effective option for treating many different ailments and if you are new to using medical cannabis ACDC is one strain that we highly recommend. ACDC has a low negative effect profile and a very low THC content, which makes this cannabis strain ideal for both use during the daytime, as well as in the evening hours for relaxation.
ACDC is a unique 50/50 Hybrid strain descended from the Ruderalis and Cannatonic strains. It was originally bred by Resin Seeds and has received a claim to fame by often being referred to as the “perfect medical strain” of cannabis.
ACDC has received this title largely due to its THC and CBD content levels. Unlike most cannabis strains, ACDC has very high levels of CBD. The average flower contains around 20% CBD, while some genetic varieties have CBD levels as high as 25%. This strain is only mildly psychoactive with a THC content that is very low with most samples only containing between 1% and 6% THC.
This strain has gained significant popularity among people suffering from epilepsy, pediatric epilepsy and seizures, as well as those suffering from tremors associated with Parkinson’s disease. Many patients have also stated that ACDC significantly reduces symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis, arthritis, autism and Alzheimer's disease. Others have said that this strain has helped relieve anxiety, stress, depression, pain, chronic pain, nausea and insomnia when consumed in the evening hours.
ACDC’s ability to relieve the symptoms of so many ailments have even helped it to become a popular strain for those suffering from cancer and the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy. It is no wonder that so many people turn to ACDC when first using medical cannabis as it has been shown to help with so many ailments.
Thanks to its very low THC levels, ACDC has little psychoactive effects which makes it an amazing strain for daytime use. ACDC also has a very low negative effect profile when compared to many other strains.
Many patients in the medical cannabis community have stated that ACDC produces a relaxed but focused high and leaves many having light feelings of euphoria. It is important to not confuse these euphoric and relaxed effects with the couchlock euphoria often associated with high THC indica strains.
Due to this very low side effect profile, ACDC is a great strain for beginners who are starting their medical cannabis therapy. However, it is important to note that when consuming too much, headaches and paranoia are frequently reported to occur.
When it comes to the scent of this strain, it definitely “shoots to thrill!” As with most high CBD strains you can expect earthy pine notes with deeper herbal hints and slight traces of citrus and spice.
You can expect the flavour to bloom into an explosion of sweetness with touches of citrus reminiscent of fresh orange and lemon depending on the quality of the cannabis. While ACDC is an extremely high level CBD strain, the whole sensory experience expresses itself like the experience of a potent indica dominant hybrid with tropical sativa roots.
Perhaps the biggest downside to the ACDC strain is that it can be very challenging to grow at home. This means that while it can help with the symptoms of many ailments, ACDC is one strain that you will most likely need to find sold by a retailer instead of growing your own plants at home.
