Avidekel is an Indica Dominant Hybrid originally cultivated by Tikun Olam in Israel. It is almost a tragedy that most medical cannabis patients do not know the name of this cannabidiol (CBD) powerhouse, especially those suffering from the symptoms of ailments like epilepsy, pediatric epilepsy, arthritis, autism and muscle spasms, as many users report it is amazing for those ailments. High CBD strains have also been linked to effective preventative care for Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and migraines.
Avidekel is an Indica Dominant Hybrid strain with a unique background. It was cultivated on a government approved medical cannabis plantation in Israel by the company Tikun Olam. While many cannabis growers were searching for higher levels of THC in their strains, Tikun Olam developed Avidekel to have very high levels of CBD, so that it would deliver anti-inflammatory and pain relief effects without the feeling of being “high” or sedated.
The original genetic lineage of Avidekel is unknown and may be a proprietary secret of Tikun Olam. This strain has been the recipient of numerous awards including a three-time winner as the top CBD strain at the Canadian Cannabis Awards, as well as being featured as the Medical Strain of the Month by High Times Magazine.
Compared to many CBD strains on the market, Avidekel has received minimal attention in online articles, medical reviews, and media coverage, which has unfortunately led to this strain becoming relatively unknown and under respected in the medical cannabis community at large.
Avidekel deserves more attention in the spotlight because it is one of the strongest CBD cannabis strains available.
Avidekel has a very low THC content that typically stays below 1%. While its THC content is almost nonexistent, the CBD levels are off the charts at an impressive 15% to 18%!
Avidekel is a very high CBD strain that is very effective in helping to relieve pain, inflammation, insomnia, epilepsy, seizures and other medical conditions. Even though it can be hard to find seeds for this potent medical cannabis strain, thanks to its growing popularity, it can usually be found for sale by retailers if cannabis is legal in your area.
Medical cannabis patients that have used Avidekel have reported that they have found relief from a large variety of different ailments, the most common being muscle spasms, pain, inflammation, insomnia and anxiety. Avidekel is also one of the few strains frequently used to treat seizures, epilepsy and pediatric epilepsy.
While you can expect the CBD effects of Avidekel to dominate the experience, few cannabis strains can give medical patients relief from ailments as diverse as nerve and body pain, seizures, headaches, autism and anxiety.
Beginner cannabis users can approach Avidekel openly, just be careful with initial dosing because some patients have reported feelings of dizziness and headaches if they overindulge in this strain. Avidekel has a low side effect profile and has little to no psychoactive effects associated with it because of the extremely low THC content.
This strain is great for daytime or nighttime use as the relaxed experience that it creates does not leave you feeling sedated or drowsy. Many patients report that they use Avidekel during the day to help with focus and mental clarity, while others report using it during the evening for relaxation and helping to relieve the symptoms of insomnia.
The aroma of Avidekel begins with a pleasant burst of sweetness that is punctuated by a pungent earthiness, with slight herbal hints. While a lot of high CBD strains present a bland woody scent, Avidekel delivers a more robust aroma.
When you smoke Avidekel you can expect a smooth, rich and gentle experience that highlights a distinct sweetness on the tongue that remains long after the final exhale. The herbal and woody notes remind you of Avidekel’s lineage as a CBD dominant strain.
If you want to grow Avidekel indoors, you should create a climate controlled environment with high humidity. You can expect a crop after 7 to 9 weeks of flowering with yields around 9 to 12 oz/plant. Avidekel seeds can be very hard to come by and you may want to consider growing an alternative medical cannabis strain very high in CBD like Cannatonic. Avidekel grows to a medium height of around 180 cm (6 feet) and like most Indica Dominant cannabis strains, it is extremely bushy so spacing and pruning the plants accordingly will be important for the overall health and amount of harvest yielded.
