Dr. Grinspoon is a 100% Sativa landrace strain that was named to pay homage to a prominent cannabis advocate by the name of Dr Lester Grinspoon. The specific genetics are unknown and this strain is considered rare and exotic. Dr. Grinspoon is a unique strain that medical patients report works well for mood based disorders like anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, fatigue and PTSD. You may not ever come across this rare strain, although if you do, you may want to purchase some and give homage to the legend of Dr. Lester Grinspoon.
Dr. Grinspoon or “The Good Doctor” as some call this strain, was named to honour a prominent cannabis advocate from the 1960’s, Dr Lester Grinspoon.
It is believed to be a landrace sativa strain, however it is unknown where the exact genetics are derived from.
The THC content is widely disputed, some sources state it’s 20-25%, while posted test results from MCRlabs cite their lab results around 12.5% THC. These results also contained 1.1% CBGA content. This being the case, it is best to check the cannabinoid content of the specific product and compare it with this strain review.
The CBD content is low to very low.
Dr. Grinspoon has been reported to help treat ailments such as anxiety, ADD/ADHD, depression, back pain, migraines and headaches. Dr. Grinspoon has also been reported to be effective for joint pain, fatigue and arthritis. As with most landraces, this strain has a very simple nose with a floral scent layered against herbal and lemon undertones.
The flavour profile of Dr.Grinspoon is a bit more complex than its aroma. Its lemon scent explodes into a sweet and tangy citrus taste. The herbal flavour expands into a spiciness that has strong hints of diesel like many strains of the Sativa family.
When growing Dr. Grinspoon indoors you can expect a harvest after 12-14 weeks, with yields of up to 12 oz/m². These cannabis plants usually top out at around 5 and a half feet tall. Outdoor harvests will be ready from late October to early November and usually average yields of 12 oz/plant. Experience is recommended when attempting to grow Dr. Grinspoon yourself.
