Nuken is a 80/20 Indica dominant strain that hails from the West Coast of Canada and was originally bred by Cash Crop Ken when he crossed Shishkaberry and God Bud. Nuken produces a relaxing, euphoric and uplifting experience that is popular in the recreational market, as well as in the medical cannabis community to help treat anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADD/ADHD, fibromyalgia and migraines/headaches.
First fathered in the West Coast growing scene of Canada, Nuken boasts genetics from some coastal classics like God Bud and Shishkaberry. Nuken was created by Cash Crop Ken and has become a popular strain in the Pacific Northwest.
The THC content averages from 13% to 25%. The CBD content is almost negligible in this strain, maybe reaching 0.05%.
Those with inflammatory conditions like arthritis and autoimmune disorders may appreciate the soothing and calming nature of Nuken. Medical cannabis patients with fibromyalgia, and other chronic pain conditions, may appreciate the potent pain relief that this strain provides. Others have reported finding relief from anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADD/ADHD and headaches.
The onset of Nuken starts with a cerebral buzz that leads into an uplifting euphoria and a happy state of mind. This head buzz often leaves people a little giggly, which makes it a good strain choice for social activities. Nuken’s physical high is characterized by a relaxing feeling that is not overly sedative in nature but may cause drowsiness and lead to couch lock, especially in higher doses. These strong Indica effects make Nuken an ideal afternoon or evening strain.
Overconsumption can lead to feelings of anxiety, paranoia, dizziness and headaches.
Nuken has a pungent aroma that is highlighted by skunky and sweet notes.
The flavour profile of Nuken is surprisingly simple; there is a sweet and sugary taste on the inhale, while strong piney flavours overpower a slight woodiness on the exhale.
Some experience is needed when growing Nuken but it can be grown either indoors or outdoors successfully. It is strongly suggested to always be mindful of humidity levels, as Nuken can be prone to mold and mildew if the growing environment gets too damp. Indoor harvests will be ready to harvest after 7-8 weeks of flowering and will yield between 16-20 oz/㎡ on average. When growing Nuken outdoors, it prefers cooler climates and on average will produce 24 oz/plant between late September and mid October.
