This is a simple and effective recipe for making cannabis body or face creams. It can also save you money!

cannabis body or face cream

You only need two ingredients and some basic pieces of equipment to make this amazing cannabis cream.

All you have to do is pick your favourite cream, pick your cannabis concentrate and you are almost done!

Preparation Time: 5 - 10 minutes

Cook Time: 5 - 10 minutes

Jarring: 5 minutes

Total Time: 20 to 30 minutes

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Medium to large glass measuring cup (food safe when heated, we use pyrex) that fits into the saucepan or you can use a double boiler
  • Small to medium stainless steel whisk (a chopstick works well too)
  • Small spatula
  • Digital Scale 0.1 or 0.01 (0.01 is suggested)
  • Calculator
  • A jar for your cannabis cream when it is finished. Tinted glass jars work well or you can use the jar your cream came in although it is not always recommended due to the fact that some terpenes can dissolve plastic which will leave a plastic residue in the cream.

Once you have this equipment you can make cannabis face or body cream for years. We suggest spending the money and the time to get your equipment set up correctly so everything is easier and more consistent now and in the future.

Ingredients

cannabis body or face cream

  • 1 gram of RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) or decarbed cannabis concentrate of your choice
  • 100 grams of your preferred cream (we suggest using organic brands whenever possible)

You can scale this recipe up or down as much as you want but we suggest making small fresh batches.

This recipe will make just under 100 ml of cannabis cream.

This will be a strong cream with around 10 mg of THC per ml.

Directions

  1. cannabis body or face cream Fill a medium sized saucepan with hot water until the water is three to four inches deep. Ensure the water level is at least 1.5 inches below the rim of the glass measuring cup.

  2. Place the saucepan on the stove burner at a low/medium heat (level 2 - 3) and allow the water to heat up but do not let the water boil. The water should be hot enough to warm the cream and the concentrate so they can easily be mixed together.

  3. Place the cream in the glass measuring cup. Use the spatula if needed.

  4. Place the glass measuring cup that is filled with cream in the hot water of the saucepan, the saucepan should still be on the burner. Let the cream warm up for 5 minutes or until it is hot but not close to boiling

  5. Once the cream is heated add 1 gram of your decarbed cannabis concentrate and use your whisk to gently mix them together (a chopstick also works if you do not have a small whisk). The concentrate should quickly emulsify into the cream and the mixture will become a uniform color, which will depend on the cream’s original color and the color of the cannabis concentrate used.

Typically when using a neutral colored cream, the color will range from a light green to an amber yellow when fully emulsified. Once the cannabis concentrate has fully emulsified into the cream turn the heat down to level two and continue to gently stir for a few more minutes.

  6. Turn off the burner.

  7. Now remove the measuring cup from the saucepan (use oven mitts) and let the cannabis cream cool for at least 10 minutes. To expedite the process you can put the glass in the fridge once the glass measuring cup is cool enough to do so.

  8. Once the cream has cooled, take your spatula to transfer the cream from the glass measuring cup into your cream jar

  9. Put the lid on the jar full of cannabis cream.

  10. Add an ingredient label on the jar which indicates the following:

    1. Total amount of concentrate and what type it is
    2. Total THC content
      1. (THC % of concentrate) x (total amount of concentrate)
      2. For example (80%) x (1 gram RSO) = 800 mg of THC
    3. Type of cream used
    4. THC content per ml
      1. Total THC Content / Total ml
      2. For example (800 mg THC) / (100 ml of total cream) = 8 mg THC per ml
